Morton neuroma is a discomfort to the character of tiny digital nerves between toes growing between the tendons and causing tumor-like growth and severe pain and burning in that area. It is usually seen between the 2nd and 3rd fingers. It is more frequent in females and mostly unilateral. Repetitive traumas can be caused by inappropriate shoe or leg deformities. The complaints of the patient are moving, walking, comforting when the shoe is removed.
In treatment, it is advisable to choose cushion pads, weight loss in obese patients, finger exercises, suitable shoes. Local anesthetic and cortisone injections are useful in the presence of an ultrasound. Surgical removal may be necessary in resistant cases.
